Megan Smith Jovanovic
Megan Smith Jovanovic has 14 years of experience serving the West Michigan nonprofit, business, and philanthropy communities. Her passion is helping build a more equitable community and helping clients advance their mission and grow their business. Megan’s expertise is in strategic planning, fund development, program development, collective action, and process improvement. She has a particular strength for project design, development and management. Megan is also a licensed attorney and brings her analytical approach to projects. Her legal background provides a rich skill set around research, writing, analysis, understanding your audience, how to advocate for a cause, and how to learn anything swiftly.
Megan has secured grant funding for organizations in human services, social services, health, and arts. She has served clients on projects relating to grant management, grant program development, diversity, equity, and inclusion (including a focus on LGBTQ+), leadership program development, board development, and capital campaign planning. She’s worked for The Diatribe, Women’s Resource Center, A Glimpse of Africa, Komen Michigan, the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce, and KConnect where she developed deep experience in outcomes, strategies, data-driven analysis, advocacy, reporting, and organizational development.
Megan’s approach is to gain a deeper understanding of the initiatives and goals of clients, and then to learn and explore together how to build on success for the next stage of development. Let’s build a stronger, more equitable, community together!
Megan enjoys arts and crafts and dabbles in pottery, water color, leather working, and stained glass. She most enjoys sculpting monsters from air dry clay with her kids and playing board games with her partners. You’ll often find her in the woods or at the beach.
