We are back from our break just in time to wish our ✨PHENOMENAL✨ Teaching Artist, Meg, a 🫶HAPPY BIRTHDAY🫶!! @eunoiabyjohnson is one of the newest additions to our team, but let us just say that they have made their presence 💯FELT💯! They have jumped head first into our programming and we can`t wait to see what they are able to accomplish this year‼‼ Happy Birthday, Meg!! #SQUADDD

This poet just had a documentary released about him!!🤯🤯 Not to mention, the launch of his and @iamautopilot ‘s open mic @howopenmic this year 💛💛. Caleb is absolutely ‼️ROCKING IT‼️ this year and we are so PUMPED to see what 2025 holds for this poet💯💯

Happy Monday, Fam!! Last month we had the 🌟AMAZING🌟 privilege to host Disruptive Dialogue at @wealthytheatre for the second time with help from @bridgestmarket ! This program is aimed at offering our students a safe place to voice their opinions and thoughts on topics that impact the world around them. Oftentimes young people are dismissed from conversations that are deemed `too adult` for them, but if there is 🗣ANYTHING🗣 that our time with our students has taught us, it`s that the younger generations are 👀WATCHING👀 and 👂LISTENING👂 to everything that is going on around them. We believe that young people should 💯ALWAYS💯 be invited to the table.
The programs that we are able to offer because of the support of our 🫶COMMUNITY🫶 are life changing, not only for our students but also for our 🔥PHENOMENAL🔥 group of Teaching Artists. We appreciate 💛EVERYONE that has supported our mission this year, whether that be a monetary donation or even simply sharing our posts. ✨THANK YOU!✨ We would ❌NOT❌ be able to make any of this happen without your support!

Today we want to give a 🗣️SPECIAL SHOUTOUT🗣️ to our INCREDIBLE Muskegon Teaching Artists, 🌟@geminidapoet231 and @k_mack231 🌟! These poets are some of the 💯MOST💯 dedicated and 💪HARD WORKING💪 humans we know, providing outlets for expression and opportunities for performance to young people in their community. 🔥🔥🔥
This past summer, they encouraged 20+ students in the ☄️‘Purpose Over Pain’☄️ Muskegon Summer Program to use ✨POETRY✨ as a tool to process hardship and mental health struggles. These artists have been able to use their own voices to put words to their grief and now offer young people the same opportunity!!
Because Muskegon has fewer funding opportunities and resources for this important work, a gift to our Year End Giving campaign will help support the 🤩FUTURE🤩 of programs in Muskegon’s vibrant community!

Ya’ll we have 💪PUT IN WORK💪 to turn @the_emory.gr from a dream, to a 🙌REAL HOME🙌 for us! We’ve been 💛FUNDRAISING💛, we’ve been doing 🌟MONTHLY TOURS🌟, and we’ve been making sure that we get ALL our paperwork in order! (For an organization made up of artists and poets that’s impressive, okay!) 😅😂
✨The Emory is going to have it 💯ALL💯: an all ages venue, affordable housing and retail space for local businesses! We can’t wait to open our doors to the students in our community! ✨
