We Hold These Truths

We know that Black and Brown residents have been displaced through predatory lending, increasing rent prices, and lack of infrastructure resources across the United States. It’s also happening in our own neighborhoods.

We Host These Events

We like to get loud and show love to our students, teaching artists, and the feature artists who travel from all over the world to perform at our events! And our events, just like our programs, have range and vibrancy the likes of which you won’t find anywhere else in the midwest.

Creative Youth Center

As of September 1st, 2022, The Creative Youth Center dissolved and merged with The Diatribe! We are honored to carry the torch passed to us in terms of continuing to empower youth to share their stories, and be the change we want to see in our comminity! To quote The CYC board of directors: “We feel that The Diatribe shares the vision we have crafted with you, our community, and will be able to lead us into this next chapter with their empowering leadership, strong focus on showcasing students, and community of local artists.”

Support Our Team

The Diatribe is a group of nontraditional teaching artists partnering with schools and prominent organizations in West Michigan empowering students to tackle large societal issues by harnessing the power of radical vulnerability as they share their stories in a rhetorically compelling way.
