About
Martel Posey
Martel Posey is a true Renaissance man who has found his passions in the worlds of food, music, and bicycles. He firmly believes that living a healthy lifestyle is essential for achieving balance and excelling in all aspects of life. Born and raised on the southeast side of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Martel learned invaluable lessons and skills that continue to inspire him to this day. As a child, he taught himself how to fix bicycles out of necessity, and fortunately, he was never short of bikes that needed repairs.
Martel’s passion for bikes led him to work at The Spoke Folks, a community bicycle co-op. There, he reconnected with his love for bikes, learned the importance of community advocacy, and discovered how physical activity contributes to overall well-being. He firmly believes that health is wealth.
Currently, Martel serves on the board for the League of Michigan Bicyclists DEI committee, where he continues to advocate for the bicycle community in West Michigan and beyond. Additionally, he works as a case manager for Health Net of West Michigan, where he partners with the AYA youth collective to help connect youth aged 14-24 with vital resources in the community.
