Evette Pittman
Engaged enthusiast, advocate, and supporter of the Arts… and of People
Evette Pittman leads the Office of Special Events for the City of Grand Rapids. In this role she manages year-round activations, events, films, and art exhibits that are aligned with the city’s strategic objectives and business principles, as well as provides professional event management service to the event creation process. Her work enriches Grand Rapids’ economic, social, and cultural fabric while also cultivating important partnerships with businesses, non-profits, and community groups.
Through her 17-year affiliation with the Grand Rapids Symphony, Evette has developed a passion for engaging the community, especially youth in understanding how the arts impact daily life. She uses activations to foster creative collaborations that promote justice, equity, sustainability, innovation, and access, and is committed to improving the quality of life for all in West Michigan. She is dedicated to producing high-quality collaborative events and activities that promote positive social change and inspire all to engage to produce local economic opportunities.
Evette has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and communications and a master’s degree in organizational leadership, as well as over 25 years of experience in development, marketing, and event management, and is a Certified Tourism Ambassador for the City of Grand Rapids. She enjoys strategic planning and collaborating with authentic and innovative thinkers.
